Lie Down I Think I Love You

When traveling all over the globe I'm always trying to find the new, the unusual, and the completely authentic.  Mass produced, mass marketed items are great, but why fill up your suitcase with pieces that aren't unique to the country you're visiting?  So skip those stores you can find back home and travel off the beaten path.

Lie Down I Think I Love You, a small boutique located at 33 Amwell Street is "a refreshing antidote to throw away fashion" with a bewitching name and nostalgic feel.  The shop features their own line, as well as their sister line 'sweetheart,' and accessory line 'made in London' all which use only quality leathers and traditional craftsmanship.

You're sure to find a vintage scarf, pip catch framed purse or floral flats which you'll love for years to come.

The combination of vintage romanticism and  British eccentricism make Lie Down I Think I Love You a favorite with locals and tourists alike.

Le Haute New Designer a la France!

Made popular by Gossip Girl’s stylist director Eric Daman, Maxime Simoens is France's new rising designer.  He is truly a talented young man with an impeccable sense of details and colors and his label epitomizes the modern French take on couture and elegance. A graduate from the prestigious Chambre Syndicale de la couture parisienne where Yves Saint Laurent and Karl Largefeld also attended, Maxime Simoens represents the next generation of French couture designers.

At 26, not only has he interned for the world-renowed French designers including Jean Paul Gaulteir, Christian Dior and Balenciaga, he is the first designer to join the tightly regulated 2011 haute couture fashion show in Paris without ever having staged a runway show. Inspired by Sophia Coppola and Marie Antionnete, his first couture show was met with mixed reviews. Some described his collection as “missing the point,” noting that “he had a long way to go,” while others applauded his vision by describing his collection as “exquisite” and “magnificent.”  Despite these mixed reviews, one thing is clear; Maxime Simeoens has a bright fresh future in the world of haute couture.
He sent models down the runways in delicately sculpted dresses with slender silhouettes. His most outstanding pieces: A white gabardines dress which bloomed with embroidered leather flowers both at the sleeves and at the waistline and a long flapper dress made entirely from colored chains.

We've Got Seoul

The streets of Seoul read cozy but comfortable as spring creeps up on fall.    Chic and effortless is a tricky combo.  To get the look try emulating the stylish street scene in Seoul, Korea with these three must have wardrobe staples.

The Infinity Scarf
The infinity scarf gets its name from it’s circular shape: it’s never ending. This creates endless style possibilities, from just a loose loop to a cozy turtleneck.

As temperatures are constantly changing in this weather-moody city, it’s important to have a versatile accessory you can just grab and go.  When it’s a little colder, this scarf can wrap around your neck and keep you bundled up.  However, as the weather begins to warm up let it fall loosely over your chest for a fun laid back (yet perfectly
       put together) look.

Try pairing it with:

A fun blazer and skinny jeans (for coffee with friend)
-             A white button down and beige cropped pants (for a
              casual Friday)

A black v-neck sweater
        and a pencil skirt (for
        work)

Shorts and Tights

Isn't it just the saddest thing, when summer starts to fade and you have no choice but to put those shorts away? We feel your pain. Thankfully, on the streets of Seoul, we guess the women were so attached to their shorts they chose to wear them all year round. Tweed shorts are all the rage at the moment, and Zara has quite the assortment for you. But if you don’t see yourself spending money on the cold weather, just grab your summer shorts and layer them a cute pair of tights.

Try pairing them with:

-             Pattern tights, tweed shorts and a flowy top (for coffee
              with a friend)
-             Beige shorts, knee high boots and a knit top (for casual
              Friday)
Grey shorts, black knit tights, ankle booties and blazer
              (for work)

For those days when you’re busy running errands or chasing after the kids and running on empty, grab an oversized sweater or comfy sweater dress and some cute leggings or tights. We recommend you stock up on at least one of these, as they do make the perfect choice for a lazy day.

Try pairing one with:

-            Floral pattern tights, shiny stilettos and a vibrant clutch
             (for a night out)
-            Skinny jeans, a jeweled headband and flats (for a movie
             date)
An Animal print bag, suede booties and a sun hat (for day
            in the park)
